Castanea Agricultural Cooperative was founded in 2022 by a group of farms dedicated to the cultivation of chestnuts, with a particular focus on the Marrone del Mugello PGI. The cooperative counts 19 members with a production capacity of approximately 120,000 kg of marroni.
Castanea acts as a central hub for collecting the product in its own facilities, where it is stored and packaged according to PGI certification standards. The cooperative also oversees marketing activities and facilitates access to both national and international markets.
The Marrone del Mugello PGI has gained significant value over time, thanks to its guaranteed quality and strong consumer appreciation.
